Housing affordability index by West Midlands local authority district

You can explore housing affordability data by local authority district in this interactive map (requires Flash). The map contains the following indicators:

  • Ratio of median house prices to median earnings (1997-​2008)
  • Ratio of lower quartile house prices to lower quartile earnings (2008)

Note there are several different approaches to calculating housing affordability. The measure used here compares median house prices to median earnings.
